Walker’s portrayal of a portrait of an African American shirtless man is stunning. It shows determination and strength. With the use of acrylics, Walker has depicted the man on a deep purple background with feather-like swirls surrounding him.
Walker paints every day since 1996. Walker noticed that during his time at work, in a tailor shop, machine parts would be wrapped in canvas that was eventually thrown away. “I would get it out of the trash, clean it up” and ask permission to use it for art.” Walker uses tea bags, spinach, beet juice, and other food products to get the color he wants to paint.
